Intraocular Lens Implantation (Artisan, Artiflex, ICL)
Intraocular Lens Implantation (Artisan, Artiflex, ICL)
Intraocular lens implantation is one of the modern methods used to correct refractive errors. Specialized lenses such as Artisan, Artiflex, and ICL can help reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
In this procedure, the condition of the eye is carefully evaluated first, after which the appropriate type of lens is selected and implanted inside the eye. The choice between Artisan, Artiflex, and ICL depends on the refractive error, corneal thickness, and the overall condition of the patient's eye.
Certain stages of surgery are planned based on measurements specific to the patient's eye.
The laser can be used to create certain incisions and assist with lens preparation.
Laser technology allows greater control and more precise planning of certain sensitive stages.
Suitability for FLACS is determined according to the condition of the eye and the surgeon's evaluation.
This procedure may be considered for certain patients with cataracts whose eye structure and general condition are suitable for the use of femtosecond technology. The final decision is made after a complete eye examination and evaluation of the lens, cornea, and other ocular structures.
In both methods, the cloudy natural lens is removed and is usually replaced with an intraocular lens. The main difference is that in FLACS, certain surgical preparation steps are performed with the assistance of a femtosecond laser, while in the conventional method these stages are mainly performed manually by the surgeon.
The exact surgical process may vary from patient to patient, but in general, after preoperative evaluations, the main stages of surgery are carried out according to a carefully planned approach.
After surgery, regular use of prescribed eye drops, avoiding eye rubbing, following recommendations regarding daily activities, and attending scheduled follow-up examinations are very important.
The goal of cataract surgery is to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an intraocular lens so that light can pass through the eye more clearly. The final result depends on the condition of the eye, the type of lens selected, and the health of the other components of the visual system.
The cataract surgery technique should be selected according to each patient's eye condition. Newer technology is not necessarily the best option for every patient. After evaluating the lens, cornea, eye pressure, retina, and other factors, the ophthalmologist recommends the appropriate method.

Yes. After reducing dependence on glasses, the natural lens is usually replaced with an intraocular lens. The type of lens is selected according to the condition of the eye and the patient's visual needs.
No. Suitability for this method depends on the structure of the eye, the type of cataract, the condition of the cornea, and other medical factors, and should be determined by an ophthalmologist.
Recovery varies from person to person. Vision may improve during the first few days, but final stabilization of visual quality depends on the condition of the eye and the healing process.
The appropriate cataract surgery technique is selected after a specialized examination and detailed evaluation of the eye.
